Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with the Rev. James E. Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Harden, a retired speech teacher for Cameron and Gladewater school districts, was born Dec. 15, 1908 in Branchville to Leonard and Joe Payne Blaylock. She studied speech at Baylor College and the University of Texas-Austin. She and her sister, Gladys McLane, were co-owners of Harden's Jewelry and Gifts. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron. She was preceded in death by her husband O.B. "Doc" Harden in 1999. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Harden Weaver of Richmond, VA. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn., the First Baptist Church of Cameron or the First Presbyterian Church of Cameron.
