John was born on May 20, 1936 in Cameron, Texas to Paul Sebastian Dillon & Clara Ellen Peevey Dillon. He graduated from Yoe High School in Cameron, Texas in 1954 and graduated from University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas in 1958. He was a chemist for 20 years for the U.S. Geological Survey. John was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #6280 and the Coastal Bend Genealogical Society. He also volunteered his time at the library helping others with genealocial research. He currently served as an officer of NAMI of Corpus Christi. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ivey Dillon in 1999, a brother, Leo Patrick Dillon and his parents. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sons, John Joseph Dillon Jr. and wife Valerie, of Lake Jackson, Texas, Paul Daniel Dillon of Corpus Christi, Texas, James Brantley Dillon and wife Rose of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Dana Lynne Dillon of Durham, NC; a brother, Paul Guy Dillon of Rosebud, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Dillon Lindvall of Corvallis, OR; three grandchildren, Andrea Noelle Dillon, Jacquelyn Michelle Dillon both of Lake Jackson, Texas and Rose Marie "Sookie" Dillon of San Antonio, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2002 at Seaside Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening at Seaside Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
