Don Fulton officiating. Burial followed in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud. Mrs. Flurry died Thursday, Oct. 17, in a Temple nursing facility. She was born Sept. 6, 1906, in Falls County to Robert Lewis and Ava Thomas Polk. She lived in Falls County most of her life. Mrs. Flurry was a homemaker and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She married Tom E. Polk who preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Tommy Flurry who preceded her in death in 1982. Survivors are three sons, Leonard Polk of Rosebud, Thomas Polk of Rockdale and Lewis Polk of Rosebud; six daughters, Lois Lorene Burns of South Houston, Ruthie Lee Tidwell of Temple, Mildred Josephine Cleckler of Abilene, Marjorie Frances Cernoch of Zion, IL, Lula Belle Witteman of Billings, MT, and Dorothy Mae Wilkerson of Gilmer; and a brother, Elbert Polk of Porter; also, 35 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
