Cotton, Sr. and Annie Conrad Cotton. He died Thursday, April 7, 2005 in Temple after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, at Austin Memorial Park. Mr. Cotton was a graduate of Austin High School; The University of Texas with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering; and Southern Methodist University with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Cotton worked in Austin for IBM, Tracor Inc. and Pinson Associates; in Fort Worth for Convair/General Dynamics and for Numeric Systems. He retired from General Dynamics in 1985. Mr. Cotton enjoyed flying his airplane and playing dominoes with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Nolen Cotton; and his son, Herbert Bryan Cotton. Mr. Cotton is survived by his son, Chip (Beryl W. III) and wife, Cheryl Cotton of Lexington, Texas; his granddaughter Denise Brown and three great-grandchildren all of Lexington; his grandson Cody and wife, Karen Cotton of Elgin; his sister, Cheryl Cotton Barclay and husband, Gary of Garland; his wife’s children Patti Heckman of San Antonio; Anne Holly of Austin; and Mark Porter of Austin, and their children.
