Mateus and Rosa Dokupil lived near Rosebud TX. She is buried in the Roman Catholic cemetary near Burlington, TX (Milam County). From information from my grandmother Anna Dokupil-Surovik, Matt came first to America, followed by Rosa, son, Josef, and daughter, Fannie. I have a good story to share with you regarding their (Rosa and the children) coming to the Port of Galveston. to share with you via email. In America, Anna (my grandmother), William (Willy), Louis, and Otillia (Tillie) were born. Matt returned to Moravia sometimes around 1919 and never returned. Later, it was found that he died there in the 1920's the story remained a family mystery. From what I heard, he was buried in Zlin, Czech Republic. Both Rosa and Mateus were from the village of Halenkov. I am currently doing research with some family (Malcik) contacts in the Czech Republic that I communicate with on a regular basis. He is traveling through the area of Halenkov on April 15-17 2005. As I continue to do research, I would be happy to share with you. We must be distant cousins. My grandmother was Anna Dokupil-Surovik and my mother was Ola Dee Surovik-Malcik. I live in the suburbs of Kansas City, but grew up in Fort Worth. You must be related to either Joe, Willie, or Louis. I may know you or your parents. Randy Malcik [email protected]
