Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the First Christian Church in Lexington with Dr. Gregory Nichols of First Christian Church officiating. Interment followed in the Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Baklik was born Aug. 31, 1932 in Lexington to Frank Joseph Baklik and Catholean Virginia Hilliard. He married Judy Williams on Feb. 8, 1952 in Lexington. For 30 years he worked as a machinist for the University of Houston. Mr. Baklik was a graduate of high school and tech school. He was member of the American Legion, VFW, Cameron Dance Club, Top Cat Club in Brenham, Senior bowling leagues and the Tanglewood VFD. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shane Michael Baklik. Survivors include his wife, Judy Baklik of Lexington; son, Steve Baklik Sr. and wife Stephanie of Lexington; brother, Joe Boyd and Mary Sue Reynolds of Lexington; three grandsons, Steve J. Baklik Jr., Shauna Baklik and Keith Bordelon. Pallbearers included David Gay, Steve Baklik Jr., Jamie Doss, Joby Reynolds, David Stacy and Jason Williams.
