Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Friday, April 8 at Midtown Church of Christ with Dave Rogers officiating. Burial was held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Forest Grove Cemetery with military honors.  Mr. Owens was born Dec. 9, 1925 in Llano County to Gomer Lee and Gladys Watson Owens. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Owens worked as a manager in the home building and construction industry. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Randall Arvel Bennett. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Bell Owens of Victoria; son, Brian Paul Owens of Greenville, KY and step-son, Tommy Bennett of Houston; three sisters, Maxine Rawls of Houston, Mary Beth Burgess of Lexington and Rebecca Wright of Bastrop; three brothers, Kenneth Owens of Hondo, Ronald Owens of Troy and Preston Owens of Lampasas; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
