Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Little River Baptist Church near Jones Prairie with Rev. Carl Hudson and Rev. Kyle Steinhauser officiating. Burial followed in the Norwood Cemetery in Hearne. Mrs. Sessums was born Oct. 20, 1915 to Elmer and Lois (Dudley) Cox in Jewett, where she lived until 1936. At that time she married Samuel Mounts and moved to Hearne. She lived in Robertson County for over 40 years and retired from GATX where she had worked in the payroll department for 27 years. She then moved to Milam County where she had lived for over 20 years. She was a member of the Little River Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for more than 13 years and an active church member all her adult life. Her first husband of 55-1/2 years preceded her in death, as did her parents; four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her husband, Aubry L. (Red) Sessums of Calvert and Maysfield; step-daughter, Maria Curry of Marlin; brothers-in-law, Aurther Curry of Franklin, Jackie Pace of Port Aransas; sister-in-law, Fay Cox; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
