Chuck Salmon of Forest Grove Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery near Rockdale. Mr. Alford died Monday, Feb. 21, at his home in Forest Grove. He was born March 26, 1935, in Forest Grove to Emory James and Annie (Matthews) Alford. A longtime resident of Forest Grove, Mr. Alford graduated from Rockdale High School. He worked in the electrode department at Alcoa’s Rockdale Works for 27 years and was a rancher all of his life. He also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Emory O. Alford and Billy Alford; and a sister, Lucille Young. Survivors are his companion, Maxine Mauldin of Rockdale; a son, Charles Alford and wife Tammy of Rockdale; a daughter, Barbara Hull and husband Charles of Rockport; three grandchildren, Johna and Jaclyn Alford and Ashley Hull; and four sisters, Dixie Cleveland of Decatur, Annie Mae McKee of Fort Worth, Connie Guthrie of Fort Worth and Mary Lee Harris of Fort Worth. Pallbearers will be Lee Young, Robert Cleveland, James McKee, Ray Harris, Ray Daniels and Clay Bibb. Memorials may be made to Rockdale Volunteer Fire Dept., P. O. Box 586, Rockdale, TX 76567.
