Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at First Christian Church in Lexington with Dr. Greg Nichols officiating. Burial followed in Gridley Cemetery in Gridley, CA. Mrs. Stedman was born June 28, 1928 in Biggs, CA to John L. and Eva (Drew) Heath. She married Bernard Claude Stedman on March 20, 1937 in Marysville, CA. Mrs. Stedman was a resident of Lexington for the past 18 months, and formerly of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Claude Stedman of Lexington; three brothers, William C. Stedman and wife Daisy of Oktaha, OK, Edward R. Stedman of Roseville, CA and Donald H. Stedman and wife Elvira of Lincoln, CA; two daughters, Marjorie B. Copeland of Lexington and Mary Carol Gusley and husband Jack E. of Lexington; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
