Simmons, 88, of Cameron died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 in a Cameron nursing facility. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Pebble Grove Cemetery in Maysfield. Rev. Jerry Zucha and Rev. John Self officiated. She was born May 9, 1918 in Maysfield to H. C. and Ollie (McKinney) Weathers. Mrs. Simmons, a homemaker and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married John R. Simmons in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1981. Her son, Charles Ray Simmons also preceded her in death in 1968. Survivors include son, Billy John Simmons and wife Charlette of Cameron; three daughters, Barbara Zucha and husband Julius of Waco, Margie Murphy and husband Archer of Marlin and Judy Mayer and husband Joe of Cameron; three brothers, Jack Weathers of Temple, Carroll Weathers of Killeen and Conway Weathers of Angleton; special sister-in-law, Belle Tyson; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
