Canada, 91, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006 at Central Texas Hospital in Cameron. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at True Light Baptist Church near Hearne with Rev. J.E. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammond Colony Cemetery near Hearne. Mr. Canada, a retired laborer in road construction. He was born Jan. 25, 1915 in the Hammond Colony Community in Robertson County to Wallace Canada and Addie Easter. He married Odell Moore in Bryan. He was a member of True Light Baptist Church. He was also a resident of Rockdale for the past three years and formerly of Hearne. Mr. Canada was preceded in death by his wife Odell Canada; his parents; four brothers, James Oliver, Wallace Canada, Jr., L.C. Canada and Leonard Canada; six sisters, Mamie Oliver, Myrtle Edwards, Pauline Jackson, Avis Jessie, Mineola Perry and Marie Oliver. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
