Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. James T. Wheeless officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. Mrs. Juergens, was born May 18, 1909 in Burleson County to Lawrence and Annie (Bernot) Slama. She was a 1927 graduate of C.H. Yoe High School and later attended business college. She had worked as a secretary for attorney J.K. Freer and for C.H. Yoe High School. She married Arnold H. Juergens on June 22, 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1996. A son, Arnold Thomas Juergens; two sisters, Milady Hollas and Edna Ernst; a granddaughter and a great-grandson also preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Raif and husband Robert of Spring and Francine Hanseler of Austin; sister, Adele Bendel and husband Warren of Kingwood; six grandchildren, Darein Ricker and husband Bob of Austin, Craig McInnis and wife Karen of Los Ojos, NM, Sam McInnis and wife Pam of Pasadena, Kevin McInnis and wife Wanda of Sugarland, Russell McInnis and wife Claudia of Houston and Brian McInnis and wife Narda of Panama City Beach, FL; seven great-grandchildren.
