Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. James E. Lafferty and Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Mrs. Cochran, a seamstress and homemaker. She was born March 1, 1902 in Lamar County, AL to James Edward and Nancy Josephine (Lucas) Barnes. She and her family moved to Texas in 1916 and lived most of her life in Milam County. She married Fred Cochran on Aug. 4, 1928 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. She was a member of Battetown Baptist Church for over 41 years. Survivors include daughter, Margaret Kiefer and husband Joe of Temple; grandson, Joe Kiefer and wife Cathy of Temple; two great grandchildren, Shane Kiefer and wife Jen of San Antonio and Stacy Sturlin and husband Matthew of Burleson. Memorials may be made to the Marlow Cemetery Association or to the Battetown Baptist Church.
