Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006 at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. Walter Matus and Rev. Chris Coleman officiating. Burial followed in the Saints Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. Mrs. Hubnik was a 1932 graduate of C.H. Yoe High school and was a homemaker She was born Sept. 4, 1914 in Buckholts to Matej and Filomena (Tomek) Sevcik. She married August A. Hubnik on Nov. 23, 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was a life member of St. Cycil and Methodius Catholic Church and K.J.Z.T. where she served in various capacities and positions. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Cecilia Sevcik, Frances Tepera, Annie Schiller and brothers, Frank, Louis and Joe. Survivors include two sons, Eugene Hubnik and wife Rosie of San Antonio and Steve Hubnik and wife Carolyn of Thrall; two daughters, Elizabeth Jungmann and husband Arvell of Marak and Catherine (Sister Andrea) Hubnik of Victoria; brother, Anton (Bob) Sevcik and wife Emily of El Campo; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
