Private services were held with Minister Bill Whaley of Murray St. Church of Christ in Rockdale officiating. Mrs. O’Connor, a homemaker, was born Sept. 17, 1925 in Rockdale to Alfred Balhorn and Maggie Gertrude Balhorn Redden. She married Dr. Charles E. O’Connor on Aug. 2, 1947 in Hearne. She was a resident of Victoria for the past 6 years and formerly of Rockdale, which she lived most of her life. Mrs. O’Connor was a long time member of Murray Street Church of Christ of Rockdale and a member of Young at Heart in Rockdale where she enjoyed the friendship. Mrs. O’Connor was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. O’Connor on Sept. 20, 1981; father, Alfred Balhorn on July 1, 1946; mother, Maggie Gertrude Redden on Dec. 21, 1991; step-father, W.F. “Snow” Redden on Nov. 3, 1984. Survivors include son, Larry O’Connor of Duncanville; two daughters, Patty Cook and husband Tommy of Victoria and Jody Tyler and husband Rick of Longview; seven grandchildren, Vicki and Tres Smith, Leigh and Steven Klatt, Tommy and Amy Cook, Charlotte O’Connor, Dustin O’Connor, Jason Tyler and Clay Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Tanner Smith and Kayleigh Smith.
