Linda O’Neal officiating. Interment was in Burns Cemetery. A homemaker, Mrs. Turner was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Matoaka, WV, to Ezra and Regina (Davis) Godfrey. Mr. and Mrs. Turner were instrumental in raising donations for the gazebo, street signs and redoing the square in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Frank Turner. Survivors are her husband, J.D. Turner of Lexington; four children, Gloria Jean and Mark L. Jackson of Lewisville, Johnny and Suzanne Turner of Rockdale, Brenda Jane and Douglas Berndt of Glasco, KS, and Justin and Diane Turner of Austin; six grandchildren, Staci June Marie Jackson of The Colony, Heather Berndt of Glasco, KS, Whitney Allison and Woody West of Bryan, Lindsey Berndt of Annapolis, MD, Lane Berndt of West Minister, CO, and Dallas Turner of Austin; a great-grandchild, Avery Wyatt of Glasco, KS; her brothers and sisters, Velma and Ralph Shelton of Indian Head, MD, Georgia Cheney of Indian Head, MD, Jim and Helen Godfrey of Shipensburg, PA, Rev. Tommy and Anna May Godfrey of Aberdeen, MD, and Joan and Gary Hoyle of Lynchburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Lexington United Methodist Church.
