Interment was at Liberty Community Cemetery in Milano. Mr. Holley died Thursday, June 16. He was a resident of Baytown since 1958 and he taught school there for 25 years. He taught earth science for the sixth grade at Lamar Elementary and at Cedar Bayou Junior High. Mr. Holley was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting rocks, fishing, going to flea markets and his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Holley was preceded in death by his parents, James Mason Holley Sr. and Ethel Hodges Holley. Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Zenobia Holley of Baytown; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Holley, and Kenneth and Mary Holley, all of Baytown; two grandchildren, Alexandria Holley and Candis Holley of Baytown; a sister, Novelle Paisley of San Angelo; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Bill and Karen Mudd and John and Sally, all of Baytown; and a sister-in-law and husband, Wanda and James Farris of Mount Belvieu. = = = = Baytown Sun, 19 June 2005 John Holley, 78, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2005. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005 at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Community Cemetery outside Rockdale, Texas.
