Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockdale with Father Edwin Kagoo officiating. Mr. Alvarado, a truck driver, was born Jan. 23, 1936 in the Bushdale community near Rockdale to Horacio and Crisanta (Rios) Alvarado. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raul R. Alvarado. Survivors include daughter, Nancy Ruth Lopez of Bentonville, AR; four sisters, Gloria Alvarado Cavazos of Hidalgo, Maria Elena Alvarado Ruiz of Rockdale, Mary Santos Alvarado Mata of Rockdale and Eva Alvarado Mata of Katy; three grandchildren, Faith Elizabeth Lopez, Lucero Hope Lopez and Nathan Rivers Lopez; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Javier Ruiz, Moses Wayne Mata, Jaime Mata, Alberto Cavazos, George Mata, Manuel Ramos and Carlos Cavazos.
