Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Hanus officiating. Burial followed in St. Monica’s Mausoleum. Mrs. Junek, a homemaker and farmer, was born in Milam County on Nov. 23, 1915 to Vaclav and Vince Anna (Petru) Mayer. She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Monica’s Altar Society. Her husband, Marvin Joe Junek, preceded her in death in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter and six siblings. Survivors include a son, Marvin Joe Junek and wife Carol of Cameron; a brother, Charlie Mayer of Buckholts; two sisters, Agnes McKittrick of Cameron, Martha Stuhff of Las Vegas; two grandsons, Ricky Junek and Don Junek and wife Shelly; five great-grandchildren, Heath, Heather, Collin, Dawson and Kevin.
