Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Gary Maroney officiating. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. He was born March 31, 1915 in Milano to Scott and Lillie (Winkler) Davenport. He married Iva Mae Page on June 24, 1939 in Bryan. Mr. Davenport was a farmer and was business manager for Davenports TV Repairs. He was member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale Mr. Davenport was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.D. Davenport and infant sister, Velma Davenport. Survivors include his wife, Iva Mae Davenport of Rockdale; son, Clarence Davenport Jr. and wife Joan of Milano; three daughters, Carol Gill and husband David of Milano, Janet Hirt of Rockdale, Debbie Maxey and husband Jeff of Porter; two sisters, Alma Dennis of Milano, Thelma Williams of Rockdale; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gerald Davenport, Donald Valenta, Robert Whitmore, Bryan Young, Todd Martin and Aaron Locke. Honorary pallbearer was Charlie West.
