It has a population of 800. It has five stores, two blacksmith shops, one boot and shoe shop, a milliner store, three churches, preaching and Sabbath school at each regularly; temperance council, band of hope and other organizations. Davilla has one of the finest schools in the county with Prof Ragsdal and Prof. Blad at its head. There are 150 students in regular attendance at the school. There is no liquor sold in Davilla.
