She died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Mrs. Vondrasek, a Rockdale resident since 1988, was born Sept. 3, 1917 in Nixon to John and Lavonia (Carroway) Ivy. She was a sales clerk for Weiner’s Department Store in Houston. Mrs. Vondrasek was first married to Dewey Clint Hodges July 17, 1937 in Placious. She and Jimmy Vondrasek were married in 1967 in Houston. Preceding her in death were her second husband, Jimmy Vondrasek; her first husband, Dewey Clint Hodges; two brothers, Manus and Amuel Ivy; five sisters, Ima Cooper, Elsie Hiliday, Vera Ramsey, Nelda Muenzler and Vannie Schneider; great-great-grandson, Brandon Richardson. Surviving are: Son, Frank Hodges and wife Lynne of Groton, CT; daughter, Nancy Anthis and husband J.T. of Rockdale; sister, Ople Eubanks; friend, L.E. Westbrook of Palestine; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
