Schneider, 70, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Rev. James Mann of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. He died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 at Seton Medical Center in Austin. Mr. Schneider was born Aug. 27, 1931 in Milam County to Ernest Schneider Sr. and Amelia Lehmann. He and Marjorie Seelig were married Oct. 7, 1951 in Thorndale. Preceding him in death were his father, Ernest Schneider Sr.; two brothers, Elmo and Leroy Schneider and granddaughter, Maggie L. Schneider. Mr. Schneider retired in 1993 after 39 years with Alcoa and also was a rancher. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, honorary member of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department, serving for 30 years and loved music, playing the guitar and working with his cattle. Surviving are: Wife, Margie Schneider of Thorndale; two sons, Glenn Schneider and wife Sherry of Salty Community and Richard Schneider and wife Cheryl of Thorndale; two daughters, Patricia Schneider and Peggy Farr and husband David, all of Thorndale; mother, Amelia Schneider of Thorndale; three brothers, Wilbert Schneider of Elgin, Reinhard Schneider of Thorndale and Ernest Schneider Jr. of Elgin; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lonnie Felfe, Jeff Muegge, Trey Schramm, Darrin Schneider, George Galbreath and Sam Pickett. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale or charity of choice.
