Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2002 in Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Born in Milam County July 5, 1920 to Jack Anthis Kyle and Birtie Mae Henry Kyle, Mr. Kyle served his country during World War II in the Army Signal Corp working with radar in its infancy. After his military service, he worked for the City of Houston as the Chief Building Inspector. Later, he moved to Kansas City and worked as Superintendent of Buildings and obtained the title of Professional Engineer and Senior Engineer Technician. Afterward, his career took him to Memphis where he worked for Holiday Inn inspecting their new properties all over the world. He returned to Houston to work for Rizk Construction Co. until his retirement in 1989 when he became an engineering consultant. Mr. Kyle was a member of Forest Cove Baptist Church, 32nd degree Mason and Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star of the Gus A. Brandt Mason Lodge #1296 A.F.&A.M., member of the Arabia Shrine Temple, Charter member of the Exchange Club of Southwest Houston, a member of International Conference of Building Officials and other similar professional organizations. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Adams Kyle; daughter, Arleen Nannette Sepeda and husband Carlos of Sugarland; son, David Anthis Kyle and wife Charlene of Dallas, NC; sisters, Lucille Towery of Thorndale, Ila Mae Cook and husband John, Phyllis Marshall and husband Fred; brothers, Jack D. Kyle of Huntsville, Larry Kyle and wife J.J. and Scotty Kyle and wife Dorothy; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
