Shea of Houston was the oldest Mason in the State, he having been initiated into the mysteries of that Order in 1822, says: “The News is mistaken, Cornelius Homan, now a member of San Andres Lodge No. 170, at Cameron, was born Jan. 5, 1794 and made a Mason in January 1819."
