Funeral services were held Aug. 10 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral home in Rockdale with Dwight Kelly of Wylerville and Rev. Bill Whaley of Murray St. Church Christ of Rockdale. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Holton, a rancher worked as a equipment operator for Mine Services for four years and was born March 11, 1940 in Burleson County. He was married to Betty Stephens on Dec. 1, 1973 in Rockdale and lived in the Tracy Community near Rockdale for 20 years. He was a member of Black Jack Baptist Church in Black Jack Community and a member of the Rockdale Roping and Cutting Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Willis and Ethel Beatrice (Key) Holton; and nephews, Randy and Truett Lane. Holton is survived by his wife, Betty Holton of Tracy Community; son, Edward Malkey of Lexington; daughters, Tina Brack of Rockdale and Selina Daniell of Tracy Community; sisters, Shirley Lane of Rockdale and Marie Ingram of Rockdale; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
