Paul Kethley of St. John’s United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr. McFalls died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at his home in Rockdale. He was born July 5, 1943, in Pasadena to Carroll (Jack) McFalls and Katie Belle (Sheppard) Hanks. He married Janice Goehler on Sept. 4, 1965 in Rockdale. Mr. McFalls retired to his hometown of Rockdale in 1995 after working 25 years with ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Co.), the last 14 in Alaska. He was a 1961 graduate of Rockdale High School and attended the University of Texas-Permian Basin. Mr. McFalls was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Rockdale and was president of Rockdale Rotary Club and Rockdale Country Club. He participated in Blue Santa for the Rockdale Police Department, distributing toys and other items to needy children. He was also Fantasy Football commissioner for two Rockdale leagues. Mr. McFalls was a United States Army veteran. Preceding him in death were his father, Carroll (Jack) McFalls; two brothers, H.W. "Teet" McFalls and Buck McFalls; and a brother-in-law, Dub Ware. Survivors are his wife, Janice McFalls of Rockdale; two daughters, Michele Hyson and husband Shane of Carlsbad, California, and Kim Peeters and husband Lars of Rockdale; three grandchildren, Andrew "Drew Boy" James Brooks, Alec James Hyson and Tori René Hyson; his mother, Katie Belle Hanks of Mesquite; three sisters, Joyce Ware of Bryan, Shirley Odom and husband Ray of Mesquite, Maxine Lamb and husband James of Granite Bay, CA; and a sister-in-law, June McFalls of Bulverde. Pallbearers were Mike Shimanek, Dwaine Istre, Morris Sutton, Johnny Richards, W.C. Gross, Donnie Simpson, Gus Klekar and Miller Bassler. Memorials may be made to any Rockdale charitable organization.
