Rev. Carl word and Rev. Tom Potter officiated. Mr. Brown died Thursday, Aug. 3 in Richards Memorial Hospital. He had lived in Lexington for 68 years after moving from Bell County. He was born Nov. 21, 1900 in Holland, Texas to the late Robert Lee and Pearl (Baird) Brown. He worked as a dairyman and a farmer. He married Velma Lueene Mims Dec 4, 1921 in Bell County. He is preceded in death by his wife Velma Lueene Brown Nov. 16, 1981 and by his parents. He is survived by a son, W. A. Brown of Lexington; two daughters, Virginia Weaver and Nell Poston, both of Lexington; a sister Berta Qualls of Giddings; and seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pall bearers were Damon Burlin, Damon Burlin, Jr., Rick Perry, Larry ____son, Frank Taylor, and James Good.
