Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Herman L. Nelson officiating and Rev. David C. Ward eulogist. Mrs. Davis, a retired beautician and childcare provider, was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Tracy. Survivors include son, Henry Beckwith, Jr. of Rockdale; daughter-in-law, Ruby Beckwith of Rockdale; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; aunt, Mattie Pearl McBride; god-daughter, Cassie Mitchell of Rockdale; special friends, Velma Mitchell and Vivian Williams and Elihue, Sr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers included Vernon Moore, Mathis Moore, Danny Mitchell, Patrick Foster, Ellis Douglas, Donald Shuffield, John McBride and Chondale Minor. Honorary pallbearers were Ernest Hammond Jr., Fredric Hammond, Levor Beckwith, Cedric Mitchell, Billy Ray Locklin, Billy Ray Harris, Johnell Harris and Billy Ray Moore.
