Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hkB.2ACE/9770 Message Board Post: I am looking for the burial site of George Marion Spurlock, born 4-14-1844, Hinds Co., MS, the son of Ransom Spurlock . George M. married Sarah Mahalen Parker in Claiborne Parish, LA., on 1-13-1866, and soon migrated to Williamson County and then to Milam County where he appeared in the 1880 US Census. George M. and Sarah had six children: Ada M., Ellen, Charles, Minnie, Arthur and Georgia Marian. George Marion Spurlock died on June 25, 1880, in Milam County but his burial site is unknown. Sarah M. Parker Spurlock married Clayton Rister on 12-15-1881, in Milam county and had children by him. George Marion Spurlock served in the 12th LA Inf. Co. B, during the Civil War. I am hoping to locate the burial site to place a marker on the grave to honor his Civil War service. George Marion's brother, Marcus DeLafayette Spurlock, is my great-grandfather and served in the same Civil War unit as George Marion and another brother, William Green Spurlock. Thanks for any help I can get; the Milam County Genealogical Society did not have any information. Please contact me at Foster L. Spurlock, 2620 Sydnor Lane, Galveston, Texas 77554, Ph. 409-744-5433, or e-mail at flspur@aol.com
