Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, July 14 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Rev. Robert Beicke officiating. Burial followed in the Detmold Cemetery near Thorndale. Mrs. Weise, homemaker, was born July 29, 1918 in Williamson County to Ernest and Hulda (Schroeder) Menzel. She married Robert Herman “Bob” Weise on Feb. 17, 1933 in Rockdale. She was member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thorndale. She also enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens. Mrs. Weise was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Weise, on July 17, 1998; her parents; infant daughter, Laverne Emilie Weise; two brothers, Gilbert and Ervin Menzel. Survivors include two sons, Earl Weise and wife Cholly of Thorndale and Harvey Weise of Thorndale; four brothers, Clarence Menzel and Cecil Menzel, both of Thorndale, Marvin Menzel of Shallowater and Melvin Menzel of Agua Dulce; sister, Mable Walther of Buda; two grandchildren, Karen Elaine Weise and Keith Robert Weise; three great-grandchildren, Tanner McKee, Ali McKee and Abi Weise. Pallbearers included Newton Butts, Bob Hegar, Keith Weise, Calvin Mitchell, Calvin Mitchell, Jr., Clifford Menzel and Kenneth Menzel.
