Otis Goins officiating. Burial was in Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born June 16, 1912, in Union County, NC to James William and Etta Little Goodman. Mr. Goodman was a retired potlining supervisor for Alcoa’s Rockdale Operations. He was a member of First Baptist Church of New London and formerly attended Prospect Baptist Church. Mr. Goodman was a lifetime member of the Woodman of the World and a former deacon at Prospect Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Rockdale. He married Millie Christine Redfern Goodman and she preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 1999. Survivors include two sons, William R. Goodman and wife Anna of Shiner, R. Wayne Goodman of Pompano Beach, FL; a daughter, Christine Miller and husband Lowell of New London, NC; four grandchildren, Toni Buchanan, Tina Hahn, Casey Goodman and Laurie Goodman; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Buchanan and Danielle Buchanan. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
