Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Rev. Tom Hanus and Deacon Juan Garza officiating. Burial followed in St. Monica’s Catholic Church. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Chapel. She is survived by her husband, Lucio Borgas of Cameron; seven sons, Victor Borgas, Albert Borgas, Johnny Borgas, Matilde Borgas, Barney Borgas, Pete Borgas, and Manuel Borgas, all of Cameron; five daughters, Gloria Huerta of Rhode Island, Maximina Johnson of Temple, Margarita Borgas and Stella Hernandez, both of Cameron and Terry Torres of Plainview; two brothers, Frank Cavazos of Houston and Gabriel Cavazos of Cameron; three sisters, Stella Galavize of Houston, Shirley Ramierz of Garland and Lupe Chavez of California; also, 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
