Brockenbush, 93, were held Monday, Sept. 4 at Peace Lutheran Church with burial at I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Rev. Herb Lammert of Peace Lutheran Church officiated. Mrs. Brockenbush died Friday, Sept. 1 at Manor Oaks Nursing Home. She had lived in Rockdale all her life. She was born Aug. 30, 1902 in Milam County to August and Mary (Timmerman) Seelke. She worked as a county tax assessor and Avon lady for many years. She married Edwin H. Brockenbush. She is preceded in death by her parents, August and Mary Seelke; her husband, Edwin Brockenbush in 1977; two sons, Floyd Brockenbush in 1967 and Edwin H. Brockenbush in 1987; and a brother, Hubert Seelke. She is survived by a son, Charles Brockenbush of Lexington; a daughter Mary Alice Poe of Canyon Lake; and six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Brockenbush, Jr., John Brockenbush, Floyd Brockenbush, Preston Kissman, Curtis Beason and Carl Covert. Mrs. Brockenbush was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale.
