Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Earthman-Resthaven Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Southwinds Batpist Church in Tomball. Mrs. Cahoon died Sunday, July 23, at her home in Rockdale. A resident of Houston for many years, she also lived in Dobbin for 19 years and the past three years in Rockdale. She was born March 14, 1921, in Houston to Wournel Lee and Helen (Frazier) Courtney. She married Leslie Cahoon on Nov. 4, 1939, in Shady Acres Church in Houston. Mrs. Cahoon and her husband were welders for 37 years, making the T-shaped clothesline poles that were sold all over the country. She was a charter member of Southwinds Baptist Church and a graduate of Reagan High School in Houston. Mrs. Cahoon was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Cahoon; a son, David Cahoon; a brother, Jack Courtney; a grandson, Casey Box; and her parents. Survivors are Carolyn Box and husband Gary of Rockdale; a daughter-in-law, Reesa Cahoon of Dobbin; three grandchildren, Kris Box, Randi Carol Box, Kevin Cahoon; and a sister, Melba Durden of Spring.
