Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Tim Titsworth officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery near Cameron. Mrs. Shafer died Oct. 6 at her residence. Mrs. Shafer was born Sept. 26, 1936 in Bartlett to Robert Leon and Lela (Guthrie) Wood. Mrs. Shafer married Arthur “Bud” Shafer on Nov. 21, 1959. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal. She lived in Alvin for 32 years and in Cameron the remaining years. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Arthur “Bud” Shafer of Cameron; daughter, Lela Langford and fiancé Jessie Nesbit of Cameron; son, William Arthur Shafer and wife Pamela of Pendleton; brother, Alvie Wesley Weddle of Pendleton; two sisters, Bernice Zimmer of Meridian and Nancy Kirkpatrick of Waco; special friends, Virginia Shafer of Milano, Cherry Langford of Alvin and Shirley Shafer of Cameron; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
