    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Heintze, Michalka Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hkB.2ACE/9677 Message Board Post: Rockdale Reporter, Thur., 29 June 2006 Ludy Heintze, 84, went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2006, following a lengthy illness. Ludy Heintze was the one of eleven children born to Albert and Mary Heintze. He was born into this world April 5, 1922, on the family farm outside of Sharp. Ludy was baptized as an infant in the name of the Triune God-God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and as a youth, he was confirmed into the Lutheran faith through the rite of Confirmation. Ludy grew up on the family farm. In 1942 he was called to serve our country in World War II. He served in the European Theater where he earned a Silver Star. At one time, he was a driver for Gen. George S. Patton. After four years of service, Ludy was honorably discharged in 1946. At an Ice Cream Parlor in Cameron named the Palace of Sweets Ludy met a young woman named Lottie Michalka who worked there. After a brief courtship they were married May 4, 1947, on the Heintze farm in Sharp. Following their marriage, Ludy and Lottie moved to Houston, literally starting from scratch. After living with relatives and saving their money, they bought their first home. Ludy and Lottie had one daughter, Joyce Marie, who was called home by the Lord at the tender age of 15. Over the next two years, they adopted a son and daughter-Wayne and Helen and loved them as their own. After working 35 years as a carpenter for Barringer Construction, Ludy retired in 1985. But he remained busy. He had a large garden behind his house. He liked to make wooden projects and toys. He painted and decorated all the things he made. The last six years, Ludy went through a lot, including several strokes. But he hung in there. He finally got a Hover-round chair so he could be more mobile. The last four weeks of his life, Ludy was in the hospital. Last Thursday, he was moved back to The Heritage in Tomball where he’s lived the last few years. Shortly after he got there, the Lord in His goodness and mercy, called Ludy to be with Himself in heaven. His age was 84 years, 2 months, and 17 days. Preceding Ludy in death was his wife of 53 years, Lottie and his daughter, Joyce; his sisters Eda Gruellich, Annie Anderson, and a sibling who died at birth. Ludy is survived by his son Wayne Heintze of Kingwood; his daughter Helen Polasek and husband, Donald, of Cypress; his grandchildren-Walker, Gretchen, and Jennifer Heintze of Kingwood, and Amy, Derek, and Dustin Polasek of Cypress; his sisters, Boobie Eichenhorst of Baytown, Hattie Eichenhorst and husband Henry of Burlington, Augusta Prevost and husband Curtis of Houma, LA, Elizabeth Rall of Menlo, Kansas, and Katie Webb of Giddings his brothers, Albert Heintze and wife Bernice of Burlingon and Paul Heintze and wife Gloria of Rockdale and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4115 Blalock in Houston. Interment will follow at 2 p.m at Hope Lutheran Memorial Park in Buckholts with a brief graveside service.

Just before the yellow building on the right side of the road, take a very sharp turn to the right on CR 104. Proceed for about 1/4 mile. The cemetery has a chain link fence and is on the right. These are the directions given by Norene Holder in the book "170 year of Cemetery Records in Milam County Texas" I have 2 very good articles on Ad Hall history from the Rockdale paper 1996 and 1998 if you are interested also.
