She was born March 12, 1922 in the Marak Community of Milam County to V.L. and Mary Frances (Sklenar) Zavrel. She married Frank Joe Hubnik, Sr. May 12, 1943. Hubnik was a homemaker and worked at Cameron and Colonial Nursing homes as a nurse's aide. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church and K.J.Z.T. She was preceded in death by her son, Frankie Joe Hubnik, Jr.; great-grandson, Christopher Joe Seth Ferguson; brothers, Joe, Ladis, Frank and Louis Zavrel; sisters, Matilda Rozner and Frances Zavrel and son-in-law, Robert Glaser, Jr. Survivors include her husband Frank Joe Hubnik, Sr. of Cameron; daughters, Georgie Ann Hubnik Glaser of Henderson; Caroline Hubnik Gelner and husband, Billy, Rosalie Hubnik Kostroun and husband, Tommy; Mary Frances Hubnik Vansa and husband, Louis; and Barbara Hubnik Vansa and husband, Richard, all of Cameron; sisters, Sr. Genevieve Zavrel of Victoria and Annie Mae Jochec of Marak; daughter-in-law, Marcella Hubnik of Cameron; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Entombment followed in the Garden Memorial Mausoleum at St. Monica's Catholic Cemetery in Cameron. Alford was born to Albina (Mondrik) and Clem A. Wohleb in Cameron Nov. 17, 1910. She was raised in Cameron. She worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Beaumont and worked at Kelly Field in San Antonio during World War II. She married Robert A. Alford in St. Louis, Mo. in December 1946 and assisted her husband in ranching until the time of his death. She moved to Temple in 1980 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. She was a charter member of Scott & White Fitness Center in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and a sister. Survivors include her son, Allen Robert Alford and sister, Albina Lee Wohleb Olsen. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Schools.

Mrs. Burtis, a retired vice-president for Buckholts State Bank. She was born Oct. 25, 1915 in Cameron to Clarence B. and Mary (Britt) Baskin. She attended Corinth and Buckholts schools where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. In 1932 she married Elmer Williams and he preceded her in death in 1964. After his death she married Steve Burtis and he preceded her death in 1990. Mrs. Burtis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buckholts serving for many years as Sunday school teacher, church secretary and treasurer, church clerk and W.M.U. president. Survivors include a son, Douglas L. Williams and wife Virginia of Buckholts; three grandchildren, Douglas K. Williams and wife Bea of Rockdale, Sherry Dusek and husband Lanny of Richland, WA, and Monte Williams and wife Diedre of Denton; six great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Buckholts or Hope Lutheran Memorial Park.

Mrs. Cahoon and her husband were welders for 37 years, making the T-shaped clothesline poles that were sold all over the country. She was a charter member of Southwinds Baptist Church and a graduate of Reagan High School in Houston. Mrs. Cahoon was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Cahoon; a son, David Cahoon; a brother, Jack Courtney; a grandson, Casey Box; and her parents. Drummond, Jr., 65, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 near his home in the Tracy Community while fishing. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, July 21 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Barron of San Gabriel Christian Church and Rev. Doug Springer of Rockdale Full Gospel Church officiating. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr. Drummond was born Oct. 9, 1940 in the Duncan Community near Rockdale to D.C. and Juanita (Reed) Drummond. He married Yvonne Campbell on July 24, 1965 in Deer Park.  He attended Sharp School and graduated from Rockdale High School in 1958. He went onto get a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1965. He first worked for Lockheed at NASA Space Center in Houston from 1965-1967, then moved with his family to Tulsa, OK, where he worked for Amoco until returning home to central Texas in 1969. From 1969 until 1982, he worked as a computer software developer for Texas MHMR in Austin and Zinder and Associates. He then cofounded Threshold and Associates, a computer consulting firm with Max Dickey of Dallas. Mr. Drummond also worked as a software developer for MARC in Dallas, Dell Computer in Round Rock, and several other corporations. He was a computer programmer who had a successful career until his retirement in 2001 following a major stroke. He was a member of San Gabriel Christian Church where he taught Sunday school and found a great friend and brother-in-Christ in Pastor Ray Barron, his “best friend” at the end of his life. Mr. Drummond was a member of Rockdale Masonic Lodge No. 414 and Texas Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his father on Aug. 25, 1995 and mother on May 21, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Drummond of Tracy; two sons, Steve Drummond and wife Teresa of Southlake and Dan Drummond, III and wife Sheila of Frisco; daughter, Rene Massengale and husband Bert of Waco; two sisters, Sue Riddle and husband George of Mexia and Shirley Lands of Mexia; three grandchildren, Dustin Drummond, Kyle Massengale and Emily Massengale. Pallbearers included David Lands, Tommy Visage, Harvey Cox, Fred Hudman, David Garrett and Allen Leschber. Memorials may be made to San Gabriel Christian Building Fund, 4517 N. He had been in failing health since last Oct. He lived in entire life in the Milano area, being born in Milam County on Dec. 30, 1912, son of Mr and Mrs. Olive Lagrone, both now deceased. Mr. Lagrone married Miss Norine Williams in Rockdale on Nov. 23, 1937. His wife survives him, as do three sons, Dennis of Yuma, Arizona, Claude and Barkley of Milano; three brothers, Amos and Taylor of Milano and Henry of San Saba; two sisters, Mrs. David Pratt and Mrs. Cecil Hurt, both of Milano; two step-sisters Mrs. J. C. Hurt of Milano and Mrs A. W. Kornegay of Gause. Survivors also includes one grandson. Pallbearers were E. C. Westbrook, John Yoakum, Albert Timmerman, Sr., James Griffin, William Kornegay and Marvin Young. Mr. Lagrone was a member of the Milano Baptist Church and was a longtime employee of the Precinct 3 Road Commissioner in Milam County.
