James Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002 in an Austin hospital following a battle with cancer. Mr. Morrison was born Oct. 12, 1943 in Thorndale, the son of Voy and Ethel (Hobbs) Morrison. He and Sherry Leschber were married Jan. 19, 1962. Mr. Morrison was a longtime resident of Taylor before moving to Thrall where he fulfilled his dream of moving back to the country where he raised miniature donkeys, catfish and many cats and dogs, including his faithful border collie/companion, Rodeo. Mr. Morrison was employed for over 25 years with Floyd’s Glass as a commercial field superintendent and safety director. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale and had served as president of Taylor Volunteer Fire Department, had been active with the Taylor Barbecue Cook-Off since its inception, served as a Little League coach and had been a paramedic with Williamson County. Preceding him in death was his father. Surviving are: Wife, Sherry Morrison of Thrall; mother, Ethel Morrison of Thorndale; two sons, Kevin Morrison and wife Terri and children Brooke and Justin of Round Rock and Steven Morrison and wife Toni and children Megan and Trent of Taylor; sister, Bettye Tillotson and husband Brad of Garland; three brothers, Edwin Morrison of Thorndale, Wendon Morrison and wife Jane of Fairfield and Randy Morrison and wife LaMerle of Thorndale. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at Condra Funeral Home, Taylor. Pallbearers will be Larry Helbert, Gary Wiede, Larry Roepke, Ronnie Becker, Floyd Zuehlke Jr. and Dan Martinka. Honorary pallbearers are Floyd Zuehlke Sr., Doyle Davis, Gaylon Parker, Richard Frankeny, Jack Garner, Dan Kropp and Edward Jonas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Paul Lutheran Church School, Thorndale.

About that Coffee family census notes: Close, but no cigar. Our Henry Kite and Margaret Winafred Williams Kite, had a son, Samuel Marion Kite. He married Belle Narrid of Erath and milam. Their daughter, Ethel Kite (1892-1952)married Ira Coffee (1890-1919). their son, Findley Marion coffee (1914-1987) married Dorris Brown. Ira had a brother, George coffee. Ethel married George, also. I don't have much more on the Coffee family, except the family that still lives in Visalia/Fresno/Kingsburg area ... Frannie Hauenstein, Lola Christie, and Donna Symonds, etc. the Bartlett bunch married into the Coffee family during the Ira Coffee generation. I don't have any connections to any of the Collins, Bryants, Dodds, or elliotts on your census list. Don't know if they belong to us or not. I just don't have similar names. thanks, I'm saddened at Martina's passing. I didn't know her well, but she was a valuable source of information to me on her branch of our family. Martina was the second wife of Albert Robert Cloud (1900-1998) and 2nd great grandson of our "elusive Jeremiah", 1784 GA-1865 TX. Albert was first married to Bernice Elizabeth Frazier. They had three children, only one still living (mentioned as stepson in obit). Albert and Martina had no children. Martina had previously been married to Fred Henry Kelley (or Henry Fred Kelly -- and perhaps without the second "e"). Martina and Henry/Fred had one child -- Gene Durwood Kelly, mentioned below in the obit. Albert's parents were Robert Samuel Cloud (1868-1946) and Ada Talbott (1870-1901). Ada was born in Kentucky and Robert was born, lived and died in Milam county. He was a road commissioner in Milam county. Robert's parents (Albert's grandparents) were William Jasper Cloud (1824-1871) and Elizabeth Jane Boyd (1832-1918), early settlers of Milam county. Elizabeth was well-known in early Milam county as a midwife. Wm. and Elizabeth were both born in Alabama and married there. They lived and died in Milam county. Robert and Ada Cloud and William and Elizabeth Cloud are buried at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
