Mr. Hunt, would you be so kind as to send me the information about Isaac Garner also? I believe Isaac is one of my Garner relatives. Can you tell me whether this is the Isaac Garner who was a son of Bradley Garner and Sarah Rachel Harmon Garner--ALSO a brother to David Hess Garner? If so, I believe that Isaac still has at least one relative in Rockdale by the name of Mildred Baker. She has done a lot of family research and might be able to help Joy Neeley with her project. I have Mildred's address somewhere if it is needed. Lorene Vanzant
Yes, I have contacted Asa Castleman and have seen his website. David Hess Garner 1807-1864 is written up in The Handbook of Texas online. His parents were Bradley and Sarah Rachel (Harmon) Garner, Sr. and the article says one of his siblings was Isaac Garner. The Isaac B. Garner buried in the Freezeout Cemetery may be this brother. He lived in District 103, Milam Co., TX in 1880 also in the same district is a Bradley Garner age 29 TX parents born in LA with a wife Sarah Garner age 28 LA and five children. Was this Bradley a grandson of Bradley Garner, Sr. and possibly a son of Isaac B. Garner? Joy Neely
http://freepages.genealogy.roots web.com/~acastleman/freezeout_cleanup/freezeout_cleanup.htm I am sending a website that I was sent about the cemetery. I have always seen it listed as Freezeout Cemetery and always thought it as an odd name. As you probably know, it is on Alcoa property and you have to ask permission to enter. I wish that the cemetery could be dedicated to its own area and have its own entrance. I corresponded with Mr.Castleman and he may be able to help with the fence. On the link above there is another link to his personal webpage. I will put some things together about Isaac and send to you and I will check through my records to see if I have corresponded with anyone about the cemetery. Hilton
