Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr. Klick died Saturday, June 18, at his home in Rockdale. He was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Kilbourne, LA, to Adolph and Ruth M. (McMillion) Klick. He married Velma K. Morgan on Feb. 15, 1947, in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Mr. Klick was a Rockdale resident for the past 51 years and formerly lived in Belton. He worked as a welder, mechanic and supervisor at TXU, retiring as a supervisor on April 1, 1981, after 28 years. While in Belton, he helped build the Lake Belton Dam. Mr. Klick was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Klick helped build the trailer for the Rockdale/Cameron football game bell and also helped build the bleachers at Tiger Field. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Klick on March 3, 1999, and his parents. Survivors are a son, Dennis W. Klick and wife Janis of Bryan; a daughter, Barbara A. Huntsman and husband Eddie of Temple; a brother, Larry Klick of West Monroe, LA; a sister, Peggy Allen of Lake Providence, LA; also, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Stanley family was living in precinct 5 when the 1900 census was counted in June of 1900. His family migrated to Jackson County, Oklahoma probably late in 1900 or early in 1901. By that time he had died. He was born in Hunt County Texas in February 1858. I am looking for the site of his burial. A cemetery lookup would be appreciated. He is listed in the 1860, 1870 and 1870 census as Philander J. Stanley or Standlee.
