    3. My cousin tells me that our Grandfather did soldiers' laundry in the big wash pot in the washhouse (later a garage) at their home at 1706 So. 1st St there in Waco. (For you locals... some of the trees that still grow there on the west side of the Baylor campus intramural field... there on So 1st St in the middle of the block... bordered the driveway that led into that washhouse. The crepe myrtle was at the end of the front porch of the house where my mother grew up.) The name of the army facility was Camp McArthur... and I have found this pic on the web http://www.ku.edu/~kansite/ww_one/photos/bin15/imag1477.jpg. (For other interesting WW I photos see their homesite at http://www.ku.edu/~kansite/ww_one/photos/location.htm.) > My Mother then living in Rosebud, TX in 1917-18 use to go to the Cotton > Palace in Waco where many of the military from nearby base(s) attended. > She met my Father there and they were married in Waco 07DEC1918 and lived in > Ft.
