    3. I do not know what the Cotton Palace was in 1918. I have a carnival glass fruit bowl that my uncle won for his sister at the Cotton Palace. I think it might have been an amusement park. I found a map in a 1996 Waco phone directory. Cotton Place Park is bordered by Clay, South 12th, Dutton and South 15th. It appears that Burnett. Ross. and Cleveland go to the park and stop at the park then continue on the other side. The tornadoes of 1953 blew down what I believe was the last remaining building of the old Cotton Palace. As a recall it appeared to have been a stage with a tall strucure behind it. When the tornadoes came through town, I think it wass being used as dressing rooms for the swimming pool. When it came down the debris fell into the pool. One of my schoolmates, I think his name was Billie Beatros was killed in the pool. Hope helps.
