If you have been thinking about planning a weekend trip to do research in McLennan County, here is a chance you might not want to miss. I don't belong to this group, but I went last year and it was a blast. The second annual Genealogy Lock in will be held on Friday October 19th at 6 p.m. till Midnight. The doors lock at 7 but you are free to leave when you are ready. This is a great night to research with lots of different short discussions, prizes, and food. The only patrons allowed in the library this night will be genealogy researchers. This is also a great night to catch many of the people who are the most knowledgeable about McLennan County and its history.Last year there were plenty of people willing to listen and give you the best advice they can. If you have more questions about this night please contact: William Buckner at (254) 750-5945 or bbuckner@ci.waco.tx.us or the President of the genealogy group Bowman Price at (254) 753-4018 or bbaprice@mindspring.com.
