I pray noone gets a notion to tear that up. It's a piece of our local history and Cox's went out a few years ago.) Goldstein-Miguel Co The, 521-27 Austin av, PBX 3600 (thier name is about to change and they are getting a make-over. They are all that remains of what used to be Lake Air Mall!) Levy's 401-3 Austin av Monnig's 604-6 Austin av, Tel 371 (I have a little kitten planter with it's original price tag (I forget the price) from Monnig's!! My mother-in-law Betty Parrish also worked here at one time in addition to McCrory's and Sear's after it moved to 18th & Waco Dr.) Montgomery Ward & Co 321 Austin av (no longer in existence) Penney J C & Co Inc 612 Austin (now at Richland Mall out at Loop 340 & Hwy. 6) Sear Roebuck and Co 826-28 Austin av Tel 8700 (also at Richland Mall & w/o Roebuck) Wood Bros 417 Austin av Tel 317 (this was heavily damaged in the 1953 Tornado. They had a lion statue that 'guarded' the entrance. That lion is now at the Lion's Club over on 42d str. across from Lions Park (near Waco High).)
