I just received this very exciting message and could not wait to share the news with all of you. I hope you will give this your support. Jonelle Ellis Russell <ljrussell@earthlink.net> We just got word that Senator Orrin Hatch has drafted a resolution to officially make October Family History Month. Am running the following in tomorrow's Ancestry Daily News. Feel free to share this info. Best, Juliana Juliana Smith Editor, Ancestry Daily News Ancestry.com http://www.ancestry.com Tel/Fax: 219-933-0122 editor@ancestry-inc.com ===================================================================== CALL TO ACTION FOR DECLARING OCTOBER FAMILY HISTORY MONTH ===================================================================== As most of you are probably aware, in the past several years, October has been designated Family History Month. An idea that originated with the Monmouth County Genealogical Society, has since spread into a nationwide campaign with the endorsement of the National Genealogical Society and the Federation of Genealogical Societies. In addition several states have passed official proclamations to this effect. Now we have the opportunity to make this a national event. The Ancestry Daily News has just learned that Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah is sponsoring a Family History Resolution to have October officially declared Family History Month. The resolution has been drafted and a letter has been circulated from Senator Hatchs office to all the other Senators to solicit their support to officially declare October Family History Month. This is a great opportunity for the genealogical community at large to receive national recognition for our efforts. To support the passage of this measure, we want to encourage as many people as possible to contact the Senate and urge them to support and vote for Senator Hatchs Family History Resolution. Lets remind them of the widespread interest in family history and the contribution it makes to our American heritage. Make our voices heard! CONTACTING YOUR SENATOR U.S. Senate http://www.senate.gov/contacting/index_by_state.cfm You may also phone the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and an operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request. Gholson cemetery! I have a "Sarah E.Peters" buried there in an unmarked grave. I beleive her too be buried close too her daughter & son-in-law James J. & Sarah Peters Rozell. Any way I can help will do so. Need area code for caretaker Ray Walker. Red peters
I saw this article in the paper and figured that some of you might be interested. Here is a short version of the article. Members of the Gholson Cemetery Association are trying to identify unmarked or lost grave sites at the cemetery. Ray Walker, the cemetery's caretaker says an effort to identify graves is in process. He has a list of 10 identified that need markers and 30 - 40 that still need to be identified. Walker wants to encourage descendants to claim their ancestor's grave sites. Of particular interest is one that a rock and flowers appear on the grave once a year. "We don't know who they are and we would like to find out", said Walker. To Contact the Walkers , call 829-1161 or write to 363 Wildcat Circle, Gholson, Texas 76705-5636.

I sure would love too know the name of the "Peters" buried in china Springs. I have lots of folks at Gholson Cem. Thanks Red Peters
Yes There is a cemetery in CHINA SPRING, TX . If you would like a look up I have the Cemetery book from China Spring area. Would be glad to do a look up for you. Was just at the cemetery two months ago and I am sure I saw the name LAWSON on some of the tombstones Annette
According to family tradition my great-great grandmother, Susan Jane LAWSON ROBERSON, was buried 12 miles north of Waco in 1873. I just found out about China Springs, so I was wondering if there is a cemetery there? Susan's father, David LAWSON, died there in 1878 and is buried in Bosqueville Cemetery. He had other children living in the area. Thanks, Phoebe _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

My tennis elbow in my rt. arm is acting up. I will be off puter until I can get it under control. When I take a hiatus some tend to worry. Sure, sometimes I do just to 'get away', but then times like this it is physical. Be back soon, Teresa
I was going through boxes and found my Uncle Bob's stuff, some of which I have. In a box I found a newspaper for North Waco Jr. High. It is 12 pages long. I can list names, and articles I see but won't transcibe the whole enchilada. If anyone wants a copy they can send me a self-addressed stamped ( may take two 34cent stamps) envelope with a small donation (as I have my own copier and ink & paper are neither free or cheap) and I can copy it and send it to you.
