    1. E.L. Morris
    2. Nicole Wiebe
    3. I'm looking for information on the E.L. Morris that filed a Confederate Pension Application (#15983) in McLennan County, Texas. My 5th great uncle was named E.L. Morris, he was born ca 1842 in Georgia and I believe his wife Texxie (maiden name unknown) is buried in the Cottage Hill Cemetery in Hamilton County, Texas. She was born June 14, 1859 and passed away February 12, 1912 according to her headstone. E.L. and his family were enumerated on the 1860 Blount County, Alabama census in 1860. I'm told his mother Margaret/Anne Morris (born ca 1820) passed away in McLennan County and is buried there. Anyone having knowledge of this family or E.L. Morris please contact me. nwiebe@dashlink.com

    1. Columbus Ave. Boarding House
    2. Teresa Parrish
    3. Is there anyone who can tell me what the address was, or may still be if the house is still standing, for a boarding house said to have been run by my great-grandfather and his second wife, William L. and Florence Butler, somewhere on Columbus Ave.? They likely would have lived there in the mid-late 1920's thru the late 1930's. His former wife, my great-grandmother, and her second husband were divorced in June 1938 and sometime thereafter her and great-grandpa remarried. I have no idea if Florence died or if her and great-grandpa divorced. Teresa Parrish

    1. Baggett/Thrasher
    2. Teresa Parrish
    3. I am looking Birdie Elaine Baggett, b. 12-1-1948. Her mother was Helen Thrasher, her father Gilbert Maurice Baggett. The name Birdie comes from Maurice's (as we called him) mother. He is my dad's cousin. This is tricky. Only recently in the last few years, after some deaths, has this been talked about. Maurice is now deceased but his wife still lives. I surely can't ask her anything about this, if ya know what I mean. Birdie Elaine is the result of what the family calls a scandal and the situation was only talked about in hushed tones. She was named after Maurice's mother in the attempt for recognition of the child. Birdie Elaine and her mother were ignored, as if they didn't exist. I believe my dad's cousin 'done right' by her, but ultimately returned to his wife and kids. Birdie Elaine falls between two half siblings, one b. Oct. 25, 1945 and the one under her b. Aug. 24, 1949. They are both alive and thus will be nameless. If ya do the math you'll understand why I cannot ask Maurice's widow anything as well as why the family treated her so shoddily. Wrong is wrong, but I have a problem with children being ostracized for thier parents' wrong-doing. Afterall, a child does! n't ask to be born. God just puts'em here. I really don't how to find her. Or where to begin. I got her b.d. and mother's name from Tx. Birth Records before Rootsweb pulled them. Irregardless of whatever happened, she was born a part of this family. I know times were different then, but I'd like to know about this long lost cousin. My dad's sister and my mom don't even know what happened to them, just what happened! I have no way of knowing if Helen later remarried and perhaps the step-father adopted Birdie Elaine, thus changing her last name, or if her mother moved them off. If anyone out there knows anything about Birdie Elaine Baggett or her mother, Helen Thrasher, I'd like to know. Teresa Parrish

    1. Pearl Roberts Waco, (?) McLennan Co. TX
    2. Looking for Pearl Roberts who married Howard C. Killgore in 1910 in Waco, (?) McLennan CO., TX. Pearl had a son named Lawrence ROBERTS. He was stationed at Kelly Field, San Antonio in the mid to late 1930s, before 1939. He did not meet his real father until around that time as well. I do have a picture online of Howard C. Killgore 1891-1937 http://hometown.aol.com/d2hober/killgore.htm From what I understand Lawrence (sp?) supposedly looked just like Howard. That is how they met was when one of Howard's buddies seen him on base and told him of this young man who looked just like him. Howard did not know of Lawrence because Pearl left him while he was traveling as a sales man. Trying to locate any descendants of this Roberts family. I would appreciate any help on this. John Peak lived in the McLennan Co. area from before 1870 until his death in 1900. His wife Charlotte Caroline/Lottie lived there until after 1910, as I found her in the census records for 1910, but another researcher records that she is buried at Kent Co., TX and that she died in Oct., 1920.
