May 30, 71 Hi Pat, I admire your courage in trying to put something together about the McLaughlin Clan. I guess you have found out that each family had one thing in common, as soon as they got half grown they scattered like a string of broken beads, then did very little corresponding. The Aunt Billie you wrote about, is she Lydia Bell? The one just younger than Ethel Jewel? Bill's name was William Redden. The Redden is after Uncle Red Teague. Folks were always naming kids after him and none of them ever used it. Henry C. is buried at Camp San Saba, Texas. He died in D. R. Teague's house and is buried in the Teague plot. I am sure there is no marker on his grave. Dad used to clean it up once a year but that was over 40 years ago. There was a rock at the head with "Mc" chiseled on it. Nothing else. Granpa died between 1905-1910. Some help. Sorry. Uncle Marley was killed in N. M. between 1906-1910. I think it was near Alamogordo. There was quite a trial, Iread clippings of it years ago. One of the guys was hanged and the other got life. They were both working for him and shot him with his own gun. He had sold his ranch and had the money on him in gold. Aunt Stella Bell might have something on that, she is their half-sister. Ouida Phillips can probably give you her address. If you get it, send it to me, I've lost it. She is a good old gal. Speaking of good people, Aunt Ellie, your grandma was an angel. My mother died at Knowles, NM in April 1911. Dad died in Plainview, Texas, 1958. I doubt if you get anything from the records in McCulloch County. The McLaughlins left there and moved to NM around 1886. If you are still able to stay out of the funny house by the time you get through with the McLaughlins, try the McLaurines, Aunt Ellie's family. That should finish you off. It is not far from Utah to Wyoming, come on over. I'm sorry I don't know any more. I hope you find someone who knows a little more. As ever, Red Note: HA! He was just warming up!!! PC
