He was born March 23, 1932, in Gulf to Douglas and Bernice Yeamans. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Aransas Pass and served on its finance committee. He was a founding member and past president of the Aransas Shrimp Co-op. He was always active in the shrimp industry in Aransas Pass and helped to make the community known as “the Shrimp Capital of the World.” He is survived by: his loving wife of 50 years, Frances Yeamans of Aransas Pass; his two daughters, Alicia (Hector) Yeamans-Vasquez of Houston, and Eileen (Mohammad) Tavassoli of Avon, Indiana; his two brothers, Douglas (Shirley) Yeamans of Aransas Pass, and Asa (Verna) Yeamans of Rockport; his sister, Phyllis Culver of Matagorda; five grandchildren, Candice Gomez, Lela, Dimitri, Nicholas and Aleksei Tavassoli; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Brendon. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass, with the Rev. Judy Baskin officiating.
